Tell us about you sports & fitness background:
Football and Power lifting in high school. I also race dirt sprint cars on the weekends.
How were you first exposed to CrossFit?
I work with Josh Hawkins [December Athlete of the Month] and he dragged me to my first WOD at CFT!
Take us back to your first WOD... what was it, and how did it feel?
My first WOD was Annie, I felt like I was punched in the stomach by Mike Tyson the whole entire workout!
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)?
When I started CrossFit, I weighed 235lbs and now I weigh 175. The biggest change in fitness I have noticed has been with body weight movements - Pull ups, push ups, and running have seemed to get exponentially easier.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
Learning how to shut off the little voice in your head telling you to stop when things get tough.
There are days for everyone when you just don’t want to work out. How do you handle those?
Cry. Show up to workout. Repeat first step.

Competing in Friday Night Lights was very fun since everyone there is cheering you on.
Any advice for people just getting started?
Do not make it a hassle, have fun when you come to the WOD. You will get hooked instantly!
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?
I love to work on my race car and tinker with firearms.
