Take us back to your first WOD.... What was it, and how did it feel? My first workout at CFT was... 3 rounds: 400M run, 21 KB swings, 15 handstand push-ups I had to scale everything but the run, and remember thinking that I must be a glutton for punishment for signing myself up to do CrossFit. I didn't come back for a week! What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit? I have seen improvements in every aspect of myself since starting CrossFit. Medically, I'm healthier than ever. Physically, I feel strong and capable. Mentally, I have a drive that I've never had before. I knew strength would come with time, but never realized how much you mentally have to push yourself. That was, and still is, the biggest challenge for me. What sort of changes in your life have you experienced from taking on CrossFit that were totally unexpected? The friendships I've made have absolutely been the most unexpected. I was totally against group workouts in the beginning. I would have chosen to work one-on-one with a trainer before EVER considering doing a group workout. Now I can't imagine it any other way. I also found a sense of spirituality. As intense as CrossFit is, the best thing I can compare it to is a form of meditation. It's a time where I can truly focus on myself, and just let go of the negative. There are days for everyone when you just don't want to work out. How do you handle those? Typically, I try to remind myself how good an outlet exercise is for stress, but there are definitely days that doesn't work. When that fails, I end up eating junk food while binge watching Netflix in my PJs. It's all about balance ;)
