How were you first exposed to CrossFit?
Exactly two years ago, I was just miserable realizing how sedentary and lonely my life had become living way out in the country! I wanted, needed to DO something and knew I couldn't rely on myself alone to get it going.
Lucky for me, my buddy David Orchard hooked me up with CFT, which changed everything!
Take us back to your first WOD... what was it, and how did it feel?
Ha! I honestly don't remember. I just thought it was super cool that the warmup was a friendly game of Dodge Ball!
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)?
I am so freakin' strong! Who knew? No, seriously, let me lift that for you.
The benefits to my mental health and well-being stand out the most to me. CrossFit is my favorite part of the day. I have somewhere to go, people who are glad to see me and who care as much about my success as I do.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced with CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
Falling in love with weightlifting was a HUGE surprise. I mean, that's a pretty rad hobby to pick up at 40, right?!

Any advice for people just getting started?
Ask for help! Your coaches and fellow CrossFitters WILL hold you up.
Remember you can scale anything.
Find what you LOVE - and do more of that.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?
There's life outside of CrossFit?! I'm a mad scientist digital marker with an intense love for music, my husband, and two daughters.
