Member Spotlight: Gary M!
Gary Morton is 55 years old and has been doing CrossFit for about two and a half years. He had been involved in CrossFit before in 2014 and decided to get back into it because he felt like he had put on some weight and was dealing with some back pain. The back pain went away and if you have met Gary, then you know the weight did as well! He loves Snatches and hates Thrusters (good choice). He has tried to make a habit of coming in every day so that even on days when he finds it hard to make it up to the gym he goes anyway. His advice to someone who is nervous about starting CrossFit is to just show up and do what you can. Gary is almost always the first to show up to the 5:30am class and has a great attitude (especially for that early in the morning). He can also be found at 6:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday during barbell. He is always willing to volunteer for events and will stick around to help, often staying as long as is needed. Gary can be found talking to just about anyone in the gym and is always willing to hear and share a good story. Gary’s favorite things about Crossfit Tyler are the varied and challenging workouts and the community that he works out with. Gary believes that CrossFit is for anybody because all the movements are scalable, and you can always do what works best for you. |
