Favorite WOD: Strength Day! Especially the Deadlift.

How/Why did you start CrossFit?
I started CrossFit because I was overweight and too young to be on so many medications. At first I joined Anytime Fitness because it fit my schedule and it was cheap. But I didn't know what to do or what to eat. After working out on my own for awhile, I did not see any changes.
I started to look for a new gym, and found CrossFit Tyler (the old box) right by my house. I stopped by to look at the gym, and someone - I think it was Shawn - showed me around and told me that I could take a few free classes. That's how I started, but I really struggled to show up.
Until July 2015. That was the TRUE new start from me. I've been showing up ever since!
Take us back to your first WOD... what was it, and how did it feel?
My first real WOD was July 14, 2015. A 12 min AMRAP: 12 single Arm DB snatch #60/#40 and 50 double under. My score was 6 plus 20. I can't member much from that time, and I couldn't do the DU at that time. I think I came out alright, because I showed up the next day.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit (before/after)?
I have lost a lot of weight when I started because I changed the way I eat and sleep.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced from taking on CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
Since I've started CrossFit, I'm stronger and running better. I can actually play soccer with my friends, and play and keep up with my nephew!
There are days for everyone when you just don’t want to work out. How do you handle those?
When I dont want to workout, I just show up and do it scaled (not RX).

My favorite CrossFit moments are after the WOD when everyone is just laid out on the floor.

My hobbies are playing soccer and cooking
